Ok so, i have a 1997 mitsubishi eclipse gs-t spyder with a 7 bolt engine, with 139k miles on it. Are all 7 bolts going to walk for sure?

I found a 6 bolt engine with 55k miles on it to use incase it does? any ideas

I've seen '97s with 60k on them that were POORLY cared-for that walked.

Then again, my buddy's modded '95 TSi AWD (supposedly one of the worst years) has 136k on the stock low end with zero signs of crankwalk. He only uses Mobil 1, and changes between 2500-3000 religiously.

Find out the history on the car.

no, car runs perfect, no noises or problems, was just curious

I've heard of 6-bolts walk, and 7-bolts run perfict. If you're skittish then you may want to go with the 6-bolt... but if you're brave you could try to build the 7bolt :D

Crankwalk is overrated.

Any engine is susceptible to crankwalk. Not every 7-bolt engine will walk. Most wont.

If you've got 139K on the clock and it hasn't happened yet, chances are that it probably never will.

Either way, this is a topic that needs to be searched. There are too many crankwalk threads already started as it is; one more just adds to the cluster.
