Hey I'm new on here but I was in need of some help. I haven't seen anything on here relating to my issue. I did a front cover/oil pump replacement on my 96 GST. When I put the timing belt back on to test everything before I reassemble the whole side of the engine, I noticed the crankshaft position sensor blade is behind the sensor. I believe it needs to be inside it. I can't figure out where I lost my positioning there. Anyone had this issue or am I missing something simple?

I am looking at about 3/8 of inch that I need to go to be inside the sensor. I can't figure out how it could be off that much. Unless it has to do with how the Melling replacement front cover/oil pump i put on being off.

yeah at least tell us what you did wrong...
He installed the sensor upside down and/or without the balance sprocket/balance spacer. Could have been both but he definitely installed the sensor upside down. That is the only way to be that far off. I know because I did this, looked at it for awhile, flipped it over, and went on my merry way.
