i bought the car, the engine had knock, i took it apart, cylinder #1 spun a bearing

i got the crank turned and all that, rebuilt the engine

after 100miles! im hearing a noise, it sounds like a thin peice of metal hitting another piece of metal!

well, it was the trigger plate rubbing against the crank angle sensor!

i took the timing cover off and you can see that the one side ( what i mean by one side is the that there are 2 points to the plate, the piece that actualy goes in and out of the sensor) of the plate is shiny! and you can tell by turning the motor over by hand, that its hitting the crank angle sensor!

so i bent the one side of it back, check it by turning the engine over by hand, it seems fine, fired it up and it ran good, no noise!

put it all back together, and it ran good for about 50 miles!

now, when i press the clutch, just barely touch the pedal, i can hear the same noise again!

why is this plate bending!

i understand that the crank has some play to it, so when i press the clutch it moves a little but, but it didn't do that at first,

why would the plate bend?

note:

car has a ACT 2100 w/ street disc / used
at idle, when i press the clutch in, my rpms drop about 200rpms ! i never seen that on my spyder!!! but its doing it on this awd talon!!

any ideas?

What do you mean by out of spec?

i had the crank turned .010 and i got acl bearings to go with it,

its a new acl thrust bearing too!

you know how the trigger plate has 2 ends to it, its only rubbing on one of them, not both
