Merry Christmas guys! So my gift from my car last night was dieing on the highway and having to push my car backwards 50ft from where it was parked in front of my aunty's house. -_-
Anyways, Car started fine when I was about to head home last night. Drove for about 50ft, boosted, blew off, and then my car died. It wasn't a "struggle" kind of die. It was more of a, just shut off, after I blew off. Checked all my fuses in my engine bay. Everything checked out fine. Just did a quick scan of the ones in the kick panel. Checked my batt termenals. Checked Spark, timing, my coil pack and everything was good. And came to a revelation. I didnt hear my fuel pump start up every time I turned the key. So I disconnected the return fuel line(the one after the FPR) to see if fuel would come out of the FPR. And nope no fuel. I have a gauge on top of my fuel filter and nope no pressure what so ever. I have a walbro 255 FP. Did not have a rewire mod, so I rewired it today. And still nothing. And I believe I TIRED to jump it(idk if i got the right connection, its the BLK/blu and the thin black one thats a positive and negative, I have a 1997 AWD eclipse) Anything else I can check out that might be the problem? I know my fuel pump cant be bad because I just got that thing in there about couple months ago.

Oh yea so btw my supporting mod are in my about me but I took out the AFPR and put the stock FPR about a week ago. Dont know if that Had to do with anything. Oh yea and i install a LC-1 wideband in the second o2 sensor and left the other one there in the open

Habit-I took it off because my tuner friend was saying I didnt "need" it and it was a POS LOL.

ALSO just talked to me friend and told him my problem and he said it might be my fuel filter. If its clogged will it absolutely not pass any gas thru the filter? Since I have a gauge on my fuel filter, I can tell if its getting pressure. But none what so ever while cranking. Weird thing is that, Before it died it started fine and just cut right when I boosted and relased

hey

did you try using the test light for power at your actual pump? i know your said u rewired it but did u run a full new power wire right to ## battery? or just splice a new peice on near the pump? seeing as you have a 255lph pump what are u using to control your fueling? your tuning friend is wrong if he thinks a fpr is a pos mod. but he's on the right track considering 90% of ppl that have them dont even know why they have them, they just wanted some AN fittings and stainless line LOL. what injectors are you running? your filter probably isnt clogged or u would have noticed chugging or low power prior to the actual drive when it died. if some how it is completely clogged instantly then the reason it ran was becuase there would have been fuel in the rail. bottom line is check for power at the pump, change your filter ### its cheap and cant hurt, if you dont have any means of controlling fuel and your running a bigger pump(and probably bigger injecotrs) then put your pressure regulator back in. your stock regulator does not flow enough to return excess from a 255.

good luck bud

Just as he said just use a simple test light to make sure the pump is getting power. If no power, could be the fuel pump relay or a problem with wiring.

I did the whole rewire like the one that shows on vfaq. But instead used a 25A inline fuse. I have a SAFC to semi control the injectors. Ill put everything the way it was but I ran the stock FPR for about 30-40 miles in over 2 days. But yea ima try the fuel filter thing tomorrow when the stores open up running RC660 injectors. What do I connect the test light too? Meaning which wires. The 2g AWD models are different then the FWD fuel pump

i have a 1gb but i assume its pretty similar that you will have a pigtail in the trunk right by the access hatch with 4 wires a power and ground for the pump aswell as a power and ground for the sending unit itself. stick the test light inside the plug itself on both power wires just to make sure. unless when u turn your car to ingition 2 and u can here the pump then it should be working alright. at that point i would sya its most likely ## filter.

I doubt it's possible to completely clog a fuel filter all at once, I doubt whatever it is that would clog it like that could make it through the fuel lines. My money's on the pump/wiring for sure. Let us know.

I had mine clogged because of rust in the tank. Like you mentioned I don't believe it would happen all at once. It would just hit fuel cut at a few psi. I still say wiring as well.

u can here the pump prime if u turn the key to ignition 2? if so so rpime it and then turn the key off and go and unbolt the banjo fitting on the top of ## fuel filter if fuel pisses everywhere then u know ## at least good up to that point. if nothing comes out then change ## filter and try again. if u still have no fuel coming out then u have a clog somewhere between the pump and the filter most likely.

No see the thing is I dont hear it prime at all. Getting mixed things like, If its clogged the pump wont prime. Some other people are saying. even if its cloged then it will prime no matter what. With the metal line thats on top of the pump, can I take it off from right there or do I have to take it off from the bottom? Like VFAQ says?

do u still have your stock pump laying around? if your getting power to the pump then it should rpime itself. try putting the stock pump back on and see if its ok then u know its ## pump. walbros have been known to die on occasion

u dont even need to put the stock one on. take the leads off ## multi meter stick the positive and negative on ## walbro and then to ## battery and see if it runs. if the pump runs then u know the problem is somewhere between that plug and the pump.
