Ok well last night after a 30 mile cruise to log close loop on my dsmlink i got off the freeway and went to shift and my clutch pedal went very soft and i had a bard time getting into gear. so then i tried shifting again and this time i heard a loud squeeling noise as the clutch pedal was pressed all the way down. So I finaly made it home i thought it might be the idler pully and or the belts so to try and trouble shoot it i removed all three belts ac ps and alt. then i started the car and the squeeling is sill there it sounds like it might be the crank bully but i dont know could it be somthing in the blance shaft? or timing belt pully? i have already bleed my clutch and its doing the same thing with the squeeling but the pedal is stiff again like before it is no longer laying on the floor. i will update my profile right now with all my mods

How many miles are on the engine/transmission? If the squeal is associated with the clutch, it sounds like a throw out bearing. Also, does the crankshaft move in/out by hand or when you press/release the clutch? It could be beginnings of crankwalk. But, don't panic yet. Check your crank pulley for splitting like 91DSMDave said.

theres about 95k on it. there is no play of the crank in or out or side by side. which way did it crack along the grooves? or down the middle?

what wierds me out its been runng great!!! the last couple months i had even recently fixed some startup/ideling issues that were o2 and dsmlink settings and it starts and idles like a champ even with the squeeling it has not affected the idle/startup

would posting a log from when it started acting up last night help at all ?

if so how do i post a log?

It cracks on the rubber insert betwen the 2 pieces. The pulley is actually 2 different one's with a rubber insolator between them.

great thanks ill check it out and update u guys in a bit

ok so ive checked out the crank pully and its fine i even removed it and inspected it. then i used a rench to turn over the crank and i can still hear the noise. any oother thoughts or ideas/?
