Toronto,
is there a way to check an exhaust manifold for cracks thats not installed on a car?

i got one from someone for $10, he said it's cracked, and i've inspected this sucker up-down-left-right with a magnifying glass forever. no white spots, no typical discolorations where cracks might be. nadda!

i can't get a hold of this guy anymore, but he told me he plugged his tailpipe (his engine smokes because of crappy valve seals) and he can see smoke come out of the crack...

didn't bother asking him where it was, because you can usually eyeball it.

anyone know a neat trick? or some kind of liquid i can soak it in that'll make shit appear. :p

thanx

the best thing to do is take it to ur local speed shop and have them check it and fix it,if there is a leak.but it sounds like the guy u got it from dont know what he's doin.but just to be safe have it checked out but i think ur ok.i could be wrong.
