Cracked Exhaust manifold?????

I just found out the exhaust manifold is cracked.I was wondering where i could get a used one besides e-bay. I remember a website that checked the junk yards but i for got the address.I thought it was carparts.com but they sell new.... Thanks Derrick

Do you have a 1g or 2g? If 1g you might want to look into a 2g manifold(better)

as for the manifold, you have 4 options

1g manifold (stock)
2g manifold (a little better)
evoiii manifold (even better)
sbr evoiii manifold (off of slowboyracing.com they claim its better than an evoiii with the same exterior dimensions, and it looks like it is, although i havent talked to anyone who has installed it, this is the one im thinking about getting, the runners are "bigger unported than a ported evoiii, yet the manifold retains the same exterior dimensions as an evoiii" as someone on this forum told me...)

edit: forgot to mention if you buy another 1g manifold it will probably crack again, while the sbr and the evoiii will not, and i dont know about the 2g

Yeah 2g manifolds can crack too, mines have little cracks where the manifold meets the turbine housing. NOTHING compared to what my stock manifold had

what about a 1G N/T? mines cracked...will a 2G N/T bolt up and be less likely to crack?

nope, those are two different engines 1gnt= 4g63 2gnt=420a

I heard welding wont help. The mainfold gets so hot the weld would soon burn off

yeah I heard same thing about welding it.. doubtful that it work very long.
It just suxs that I will have to get another 1G mani and it probably crack too. cus I really dont wanna spend the cheese for an aftermarkrt mani.

Dont waste your time and money on another 1g manifold. You can pick up a 2g mani for less than a $100 and port it if you like, up to you. My advice is do things once, and do them right.

You heard halfway. It's more a challenge of welding not just cast iron in the first place, but cast iron that's been heat-cycled so many thousands of times that it's hardly iron anymore.
Weld metal won't "burn off".

Hey now's your chance to ditch the 13G and get a 14B along with a 2G manifold.
Throw some 450s and a M/T ECU in there and you'll be set.
