my stock exhaust manifold as a little crack in that i noticed today. is this going to severely hinder my cars performance?

It will decrease turbo spool up time. Also if it is pulling in fresh air it can effect your 02 readings and make the car run rich or lean depending. Also just because there is a crack doesn't mean it is necessarily leaking. It could just be external.

someone else is probably gonna ask this so Ill go ahead and get her out of the way. How big is the crack? Does the crack penetrate the through the metal or is it more like a streak or hairline?

may also recirculate in idle or something. That would be no good.

it about a half an inch long and i believe it mus penetrate because it looks like around the crack thee is a little exhaust resido.

I wouldn't jb weld it. LOL Put your heat shield on and drive it like normal until you can afford to get another one. My friend had one that was cracked to hell and it still pulled fine. He put my stock 2g one on and there wasn't a big difference. good luck to you

Ill send you a spare 2g exhaust mani for 60 bucks shipped. I;m paypal verified and have 48 positive feedbacks (100% positive) on ebay. i.d.- idiosyncraticguy. Pm me if you want it, no cracks or anything.

pull it off and get it welded.. that stuff is probably the easiest material to weld known to man.. hell pull it off and send it to me, i'll weld it for 5 dollars

but yeah, like said above.. this is a good excuse to get a 2g mani

i think autozone and other autoparts stores might have an epoxy for that, but as few people said it you have a good excuse to get a better one now :)

Might not even have to pull it off depending on where it is on the manifold

Its cast. If you weld it it would just crack right next to the weld. I have a crack in mine about an inch long that is barely leaking and doesn't have any ill affects as far as I can tell.
