Well, I finally decided to take a look at my exhaust mani today and it is cracked in three places quite badly, with a white residue around the cracks. What effects is this probably having on my car? Lost performance? Lost MPG?

lost performance.. lost mpg i suppose.. just in general not great for the car... works other parts more than they should and other parts less etc... i had a cracked manifold on my audi 200 and it was super loud putt putt soound.. i called it the audi-davidson haha.. sounded kind of like a sick motorcylce.. thats just my experience with it.. look for a used one or i welded mine...

It causes a loss in performance and maybe even gas mileage. Anyway, the 1G manifolds are notorious for cracking, just replace it with a 2G manifold i'm pretty sure its a direct bolt-on. The 2Gs aren't known to crack.
