I noticed that my manifold is cracked and im looking for a cheap fix so i am going to weld it. But what i am not sure of is what it is made out of. I know its either cast steel or iron. Im not sure which. I have cast iron welding rods but i dont want to try welding it and screw it up because im using the wrong rods. Thanks

In My experiences, not on dsm, but ford ranger, we welded the manifold up and it cracked about two days later even worse, but that could be due to the dead cylinder that kept backfiring

You spot weld then ping it with a hammer...let cool, spot weld, ping, let cool spot weld ping then let cool.......keep doing that until its covered and your golden

Yeah that makes sence, Ill make sure i will do that. But do you know if the manifold is made out of steel or iron? I have welding rods for cast iron. Would they work? or just a normal rod or even a mig welder? Sorry for all the questions but i just dont want to screw it up. Thanks for the help:thumb:
