Cops bust street racers in Norfolk VA

I have only street raced twice the first time was out in the country on a road I grew up on, so I knew exactly how many cars drove down it so it didn't matter. The second time was in the main street in town, I beat the guy but that was the last time i will ever go that fast on the street, 90 on the street bugs the heck out of me, more then 150 at road america

DMV officials claimed at least six of the 17 cars because they think some of the cars contained stolen parts.

If that's true then it's at least partial payback for anyone who's had their car stolen & stripped.

They only thing they can really check with any accuracy is the engine. When they check the VIN that's stamped on the block, they'll know if it came out of a car that was stolen.

About 4-5 years ago, there used to be races next to where my local small plane airport is. No one goes there anymore...so if someone gets a new part or whatnot, we always set up some runs out there It's nice to have a start and finish marked off and not have to worry about cops coming around since we're way out in the sticks

They need to ban performance parts and arrest all of the distributors and vendors pushing the stuff. Going after the little guy on the street isn't going to stop the damage that it is causing to our communities. We need to take back our streets and get those pushers out of our neighborhoods.

Opening more tracks won't help dick. I love 7 minute's from a 1/4 track and there are streetraces every weekend by my house and every weekend they get broke up. Smart kids let me tell ya.

if indeed they were caught racing they yeah, they got caught.

i dont streetrace per-se, my cobra is far too powerful to unleash in city limits or surface streets. if im on the freeway and theres zero traffic and its open, im down. if i get caught, then yeah, you got me. as far as if im in the movies and my car looks like its "illegally modofied" and gets impounded, then shits gonna hit the fan.

If you street race and get caught you get what you deserve.. With that said if I am hanging out in a parking lot or whatever and some assholes decide to street race and the cop arrest me and/or impound my car that is bullshit!!!! Look at it like this if I go to a club where there are drinks being serve and I don't drink. Should I be labeled as a drinking partying guy because I was there. I thought you were Innocent until proving guilty.. and not by association

We only do it not to plan street races all the time, but to seriously get some food and hang out with your friends. I actually went there yesterday to see if anyone had a radiator for my car and today picked it up. Another reason people go is to check out one anothers car. Yesterday around 11 a cop came by and said to leave and we said ok no problems. Came back tonight and he said leave or he will impound our cars. Thats when he took shit too far. We laughed at him and walked inside and ate. 20 min later 6 squad cars get there and 3rd degree our cars. Laws are loose as hell here and being that a guy at wendy was a lawyer they took off.

Do you get the point though. Not all gathering are for racing. More to hang out. If i brought 15 cars to my f n house my mom would flip. Now your probly going to say ohh well you should be older. Well not everyone can park a shit load of cars infront of another persons house. What if its small quarters on the street, what now? There is times when you have crap like this happen and really it was harmless. The people in the article seemed to have deserved it though. Although id LOVE to get that cobra if i had a chance so id be glad if i lived around there. So dont bring that "they should hang out at a house" stuff here. A lot of people live at home and parents get mad or they just dont have room. If i could bring home 4 cobras and 5 dsms i would. There is a reason for everything....just remember that.

I lot cops don't have anything to on the night shift so they have to find something to do or someone to harass. Loitering maybe? I wouldn't want 15 cars and 30 kids in my business' parking lot, deterring customers away. Who wants to deal with a 30 16-year-olds and their goofy bullshit? Not me, I'd pass by and drive to another burger joint.

That's just wrong and I hope you understand that. Even if it looks rice to us, its somebody's car and they (hopefully) put a lot of work, love, and money into it. Yes that owner should be imprisoned and what-not, but save the cars, its not like they can argue with their drivers (unless they're DSMs). That auction thing is a pretty good idea, but crushing cars is just some dip-stick politician trying to get votes from parents.

The thing is, the track isnt free. If it was I think things would change somewhat. Its costly to race every weekend. Hell, just this Month alone I have already spent $255 and I still have one more event to go to next weekend which is going to cost me another $150 at least.

Kids just dont have the cash to spend on the track every weekend.
