copper spray gaskets [Merged 6-9]

Personally, I do not think you need it, unless you have a bad scratch or gouge in on of the sealing surfaces.

If all the surfce prep is fine, clean and dry, just install the gaskets dry and go on with the build

^^ I agree. Not even the 4g63 rebuild manual tells you to use copper spray. Its a preference thing but people are starting to think its necessary for some reason. I did a rebuild using copper spray only on my MLS headgasket and have no leaks anywhere.

I really only use it (and lightly) on things like the front cover gasket, water pump gasket and things like that.. also use it on exhaust stuff but gold or silver spray paints have something in them that work much better which was something past on to me by an old timer at a garage i worked at years ago

I use the Mopar Pink gasket spray. Seems a bit better than copper spray. I only use it on headgaskets, never really tried it on anything else. If the surfaces are clean and free of anything...I dont see the need to use it. Unless you feel the need to have that extra security...do it

Never used in on an MLS gasket and never had a leak. Used in on exhaust manifold gaskets in the past, but i think it's necessary unless you have a damaged surface or warped surface.

Same here, i've never used any sealant on a head gasket. If the surface is right and the gasket is good than it should seal just fine.

I'll give you 3 guesses as to who didn't use any copper spray from the factory when installing head gaskets..... and the first 2 don't count.
