Alright, i've been searching on this since last night. I was sparked to search because when i seafoamed my motor, i had some wicked leaks on my (new) exhaust manny gaskets.

I'm at a loss for how to seal these since everything is torqued to spec and gaskets are new.

So i'm looking into the ffwd copper gaskets and need some opinions.

Do i get the copper gaskets, or do i find another way to seal up what i have now?

Im worried i'll blow out the copper gaskets, but with the o-ring in the ffwd ones, i'm sure it will be alright. I just need to get this taken care of.

I've been looking into trying that gasket from ffwd also. It seems to me that it is going to be superior to anything else you can use. I would also like to hear some opinions from those who have used these exhaust manifold gaskets. Their copper head gasket with wires in it looks to be pretty amazing.

I'm using the copper gaskets from ffwd. I have the head to manifold gasket, and the manifold to turbine gasket. They sealed up very well. I only have about 1k miles on them so far, but have nothing but good to say about them so far. :thumb:

I am also running the head to manifold gasket. I have ~10k on it an I have even taken off the manifold and retorqued it 2-3 times now while working on a couple things and it still seals perfectly.

Darren carries great products, I say go for it!

I ordered an oem 4 layer just in case. But i may still get both of these.

I just worry about them blowing out with the heat and pressure.

But i'd say 10k is a HUGE showing of how amazing it is.

I'm bringing this one back to see if there are anymore users of the ffwd copper, head to mani or mani to turbo gaskets & how they are performing? When I installed my new evoIII mani last spring, I used a new 4 layer gasket & everything was/is torqued to speck but found some leaks, like the OP, with Seafoam. I want a perfect seal when I install my FP race mani. Was thinking about giving the ffwd gaskets a shot, just wanted to make sure wouldn't have blowing out issues. Seems copper tend to blow if the bolts/nuts back off, wondering if backing off is more likely to happen with a copper gasket vs SS? (always torque my bolts to spec & have yet to have any back off)

ffwd is local and i can tell you its an SCE gasket not a darren-special.

What I did on the race motor to seal the high levels of boost (over 40 pounds) was oring block & a cut head (oring groove without the wire), next i heated the copper up to make it soft then tossed the head on.

i havent had a leak yet. i'm not running SCE's o-ringed gasket, just a plain jane copper gasket w/o the special rings.

They are talking about an exhaust manifold gasket not a head gasket.
