ok i have a 95 mitsu eclipse turbo 6 bolt swap
i blew the tranny about 3 weeks ago
well long story short new tranny and clutch is in car is running but having a problem on cold starts
well code 0115 is coolant temperature sensor circuit malfunction
ive rplaced the sensor didnt help i am getting 5 volts to the plug
and i ohmed out the other wire on the plug and i cant find a break in it
i need help bad i cant figure this one out

Where did you get the sensor? I got my first one at Advance auto and the thread pitch was too big, had what seemed to be a different sensor on the end, and wouldn't go far enough into the housing. It was the correct part just manufactured badly. I went to Auto Zone and got a different brand it fit like a charm and I never had that issue again. That may very well be your problem.

Measure at the engine coolant temperature sensor conector A-97

Disconect the connector and measure the harness side

Voltage between 1 and ground (key on), should be 4.5-4.9

Check continuity from pin 2 and ground

Just an fyi, I went through the same thing not long ago. My 1g has no problems with with aftermarket parts, but my 2g will not function properly without dealer sensors. Are you using a new mitsu sensor? Cold start problems will be related to the ecu temp sender (2wire).

I bought the sensor from pep boys and there aren't any volts on pin 2 just the 4.8 from pin one idk what the problem is the wires aren't broken either.
and also would this make my turbo boost lower than normal? I've lost almost 5 pounds need to do a boost leak test just haven't had the chance.

Fix the sensor issue first, depending on what temp the ecu is seeing, it might be pulling too much timing for the thing to start from cold. Also depending on how much timing is being pulled depends on what the bcs is doing (if its still installed). I say you return the sensor you got from pep boys and get one from your local dealer, and go from there. Like I said, in my experience with the 2ga's and sensors, dealer seems to be the way to go. I dd mine and do not like to have "issues".

well I don't have a local dealership haha
but what I don't understand is how my sensor could have gone bad while my car was just sittin in the barn? it went bad while I was puttin the tranny in it sat maybe 3 weeks to a month then when I test drove it it was hard to start and the cel was on. so it makes me think that it was somethin I may have done somehow while I was working on it what else can I check short of drivin two hoursohe dealers?

There will be no volts on pin 2, you check continuity. Put your Multimeter on ohms, connect one end to ground the other to pin 2, it should zero out +-.02

ok just checked the continuity at pin 2 there is none what so ever! so what do i need to do can i just ground the wire out? or where does it go? to the ecu? if so what pin?
looking at the pin out pin 83 should be the signal wire that im getting the 4.8 volts from but i cant seem to find where it comes back in!

and also would this affect my boost levels? i wouldnt think so but this is my first turbo car it amazes me how much can effect boost!

well you saved my ass poon man thank you
it was the pin two wire it was broken somewhere im not sure where tho had to replace the hole thing.
plus while i was running that wire i found a broken yellow wire in the engine harness so i went ahead and fixed that and boom my speedo works again!!!!!
HAPPY DAYS are here again i can already tell the car is running better
boost is still low but ill deal with that this weekend im tired of wrenchin on it for a while thanks again you guys
