I am having a small issue with my 2G Tsi. Im not sure how to explain it but here goes.
The car pulls out of the hole all the way up to like 4-5k, then it seems like it will take forever to get to redline, I havnt even taken it to redline, because it just seems like its going to blow if I do. It puts me back in my seat till like 4k then its just slow to keep reving out. I dont know if this is normal for a stock 2G, are they that slow? I dont think its normal. Im not really asking for a solution to fix it, because I know what I have to look at and replace, but just wanted to know if a stock 2G is that slow to rev up to the redline?

I do have new plugs in there. Wires, fuel filter, pump, gasket set, extra TB for rebuild,3" turbo back, filter and maf adapter and tons of other stuff is on its way, I dont want to start modding till I get all the maintenance out of the way first. Also need to do a boost leak test.

There is no bucking or anything like that, its just not wanting to get to the damn redline.

I thought it was a cloged cat, so I took it to the shop and punched all the cat/honycomb stuff out of the cat and still nothing, it does seem a bit quicker out of the hole, but thats about it.

So I guess the question I am asking, is.
Are these cars that slow to get to the damn redline?

Thanks
Josh

The small, stock T-25 turbo spools up very quick, but does not pull very strong in the higher RPM's. It's pretty close to being maxed out from the factory. Almost any turbo upgrade, with supporting modifications, will help to remedy this. I also think it wouldn't hurt to do the boost leak test, just to be sure. I have driven stock turbo 2g's, and while they didn't feel "slow", I did note that they don't pull very hard toward redline.:talon:

Yea thats what I was kinda thinking, but just wanted another opinon or two. I search wont rev to redline and I just kept getting stuff about peoples cars bucking and fuel cut etc. I dont have any of that, car runs great, just needs a little pit of love and mods.
