Coolant Sensor???

Hey i cant find the right coolant sensor. I went to auto zone and they gave me the wrong size, then i go to pep boys and they dont carry it, then i go to checkers and they dont have the right size either.They both look completly differnt from the one i took out of my car. They one on my car is long and skinny tip and the one they have on there comp is short and fat and it has a differnt back plug. I dont know if the one fat one will fix correctly. I tryed it and it sorta fit. Anyone have this problem?

Just make sure the threads are right. A longer one will reach into the coolant more effectively. Use a bit of Permatex non-hardening gasket sealer on the threads, just a touch.

When I had to get one for my '90 Tsi, it was available at the dealer only - $45

on my 92 n/a me and dad rigged up a spade connector cause ours was damaged
