I had an idea and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think. I look all over the forum and saw nothing about it. I remember my friend used to have an S13 Nissan 240SX with an SR20DET swap. He changed the front end to a S15 Silvia front end which blew everyone's mind around town. They couldn't believe that they were seeing a silvia in Huntsville. Well, what if I did somthing similar with my Talon. What if I could take the front end of the talon and convert it into an EVO front end? It could be a stupid, waste of time to even think about it. But what if.....?

what car club are you in anyways? and 300whp will do you ok on the street, but there are plenty of cars around here that are pushing way more than 300 to the wheels. But if you ever need a hand with anything I don't have a problem helpin a fellow dsm'er out

Oh sorry, I didn't clarify, this motor is already being built from the block up. ARP Studs, ACL Bearings, Cometic Head Gasket, Wiseco Pistons, Eagle Rods, Some big ass ebay intercooler, and a Stage 3 Clutch Masters Clutch w/ lightweight 6 bolt Flywheel.
Keep in mind that having a built engine doesn't necessarily mean you'll be making more power with any setup- it means that you'll have the potential to make more horses as the engine will be more reliable when you begin to make some serious power. For instance, ARP studs, Cometic head gaskets, Eagle rods, and ACL bearings do nothing to add horsepower to your car.....it's debatable that the Wiseco pistons would even add power on a stock setup unless they were a higher compression ratio. The only thing these parts are good for are retaining reliability at very high boost levels or when timing is nearing the detonation level.

The Evo VIII that I mentioned above has an 8.8:1 compression ratio from the factory, and it also has thinner (lighter) rods and a lighter flywheel from the factory than a 1G DSM....and it still only mustered 226whp at around 18psi. Evos are tuned a little rich from the factory, however.

i hear you on that...i eventually do plan on swapping the evoIII IM, big turbo, and exhaust manifold onto the car...i have two specific dates for all the work to happen. the motor rebuild will be completed by february or march. and the motor will be swapped in during the second week of summer. keep in mind that i am a full time college student and graduation is on the horizon. nonetheless, i think that i'm doing pretty good based on my circumstance. i'm pretty sure that i'm definitely gonna get noticeable power from the wiseco pistons (btw, i found a better deal on Mahle Piston set w/rings and pins...is this a better deal than the Wiseco). also, i have no intention of keeping a stock setup

i'm not down with any club...i looked into TA but wasn't interested in the long run. the truth is, i'm only here becuz of school. i was born in raised in new york. i really got into cars since i've been down here. i guess if u look at me and all my closest friends, we all have a passion for building our cars....we have everything from 240s to accords, to g35s, to integras, eclipses, talons, scions, lexus scs, etc....but we aren't a club...we just help each other to get the most out of our cars and race each other sometimes. but there may actually be something that you can help me with. i'll pm u

Keep in mind what Brian said above- the Evo III intake manifold is designed for use with the small-port 2G head. It will not work on a 1G head.

hmm...well that puts a damper on my plans...i would ask you all for the comparison between the 2g head and the 1g head and if i could put the 2g head on the 1g block...but i think i'll search around the forum a lil. i don't wanna get blasted on.
