I had an idea and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think. I look all over the forum and saw nothing about it. I remember my friend used to have an S13 Nissan 240SX with an SR20DET swap. He changed the front end to a S15 Silvia front end which blew everyone's mind around town. They couldn't believe that they were seeing a silvia in Huntsville. Well, what if I did somthing similar with my Talon. What if I could take the front end of the talon and convert it into an EVO front end? It could be a stupid, waste of time to even think about it. But what if.....?

I'm pretty sure the sizes of both cars are way off... I mean anything can be done with torches, welders and stuff but its all about how much fabrication you can do and how much $$$ you are willing to spend. There was another thread like this on here, but the OP never had it finished.

I belive there is a thread on here with someone putting an evo x front bumper on there 2g.

I used to have a 240sx hatch. Nissan has a much different design for thier boddy's than chrysler and mitsubishi did. the S15 is a s chassis just like the skyline. I know of a guy who made a 240sx awd. Here's a link see how much the part's on the skyline are interchangeable with the 240. Alot of nissan part's are interchangeable. Just one of the thing's Nissan does.
You get the idea not body work but much more work needed.

On top of everything else, EVO's aren't all that common to find as parts cars, so your body pieces could cost quite a lot of money, since you would likely have to get new aftermarket pieces. Just a thought.

Yea I figured all of that..I was just wondering how possible it would be. I'm tryna think of something unique to do with my talon. The dudes in my car club are getting ready to do make a movie of our cars. I was the only talon in Huntsville, AL until I helped my friend with the S13 buy a TSi AWD. So obviously we don't wanna both have the same car...so now we're tryna out do each other.

about the closest thing you could get to an EVO is the mirage it is basically the same body as the EVO in either a 2 door or a 4 door. the early (91's) match the EVO 1-3'S the later (94 and newer i think) match up to the EVO 4-7's.

nah, imma stick with the talon and just scrap the "evo look". instead i'm gonna go for the evo power. i'm thinking that i should go with the EVOIII big turbo with EVOIII intake manifold. i kno it'll be a b***h to find but it'll turn up. i have until april anyway

Might as well try to put a bumper from a dodge ram on your car. Find a body kit that noone else has and go with that.

sorry, i meant to say the only 1st gen talons. but actually, on my way to work yesterday i found another one. but i don't think it was a TSi. so yea, he stays on S. pkwy anyway. but with this car, i'm already gonna be pushing out over 300 hp by accident, without even really turning up the boost to high. thats enuff to handle most of these dudes in huntsville. i been to the races and the yellow JDM civic Si is the most i've seen doing anything. i'm not worried.

Good choice- definitely the most common turbo upgrade used on DSMs.

Accident? Last time I checked making power isn't that easy, son.

You can't just bolt Evo parts on your car and expect to make over 300 horses. You need an Evo III exhaust manifold and o2 housing, bigger-than-stock injectors, an upgraded fuel pump, a way to tune, a full 2.5" or 3" exhaust, an upgraded intake and MAS, a clutch if the car is a manual, and even then you're still going to need at least 18-20psi and a good tune to get anywhere near 300 at the wheels.

Let me put it to you this way- my buddy's stock Evo VIII with only an air filter and exhaust system made 226whp on Buschur's Mustang Dyno. That's an Evo VIII using a 16G turbo, 560cc injectors, with boost around 18psi.

You can't expect a miracle.

Oh sorry, I didn't clarify, this motor is already being built from the block up. ARP Studs, ACL Bearings, Cometic Head Gasket, Wiseco Pistons, Eagle Rods, Some big ass ebay intercooler, and a Stage 3 Clutch Masters Clutch w/ lightweight 6 bolt Flywheel. The work is already done, the motor just isn't in the car yet. It will be by February. I'm gonna put up a build thread soon. But what I'm tryna say is that 300hp isn't gonna be to far out of my reach, even with the 14b turbo. I just don't want a fast fast with a bummed shell.

Well as stated before there is a lot more work involved than just building up the motor and throwin a turbo on it. Either way good luck with your build. If you want you car to be unique you could always put a S13 front end on your ride. I have only seen one with it done and it was on on dsmtalk. With that being said I hope to see a build thread and some vids of it once you got it runnin.

Let me guess... you are turning your n/t 1g into a turbo. Fine and dandy, but I do hope you know there is a LOT more work involved in that than just an engine swap. You'll need an ECU, a wiring harness or know how to do some splicing, geez. Go here...

thanks...but this isn't my first time doing a swap..i kno all that it entails. the hardest swap i did was a 3S-GTE into an automatic 98 camry. i have most of the parts i need, the mechanics to do it and the the money to pay for it.

Thank you...so back to the original question...does anyone have an idea to make mine unique...i think i'm gonna do a two tone paint job. (mine is gloss black all around) if u go to the eagle talon wiki page there's a blue one...i wanna paint the top that color except i want it metallic and the bottom i want to make metallic black. its gonna be so sexy. tell me what u think.

i think it would look cleaner if you put the blue on the bottom, and black on top,

like the stock talons

and dont do anything too ricey to the car,
but a nice (not overkill)drop and some nice rims/tires =

i saw that talon on a forum over the summer and i fell in love becuz that blue is my favorite color. but then when they made it the main pic on the wikipedia page, it saddened me and i no longer had a desire for blue on the bottom. even with the metallic it still wouldn't seem orignial to me. u kno what i mean?
