confused with machine shop

Im a little confused here. When getting a block decked,bored,honed,and rotating assembly balanced...The machine shop sets the piston to wall clearance right? The machine shop gave me back my pistons for me to assemble but with no rings on them...they are still in the package. Since he did all the work with my pistons there and everything, I should just be able to put the rings on,measure end gap,and leave the piston to wall clearance alone correct? I did tell him my plans of a DD,and how much boost i'm running,along with the piston spec sheet that came with the pistons. I asked a couple of garages and they told me that he should have bored to the ptw clearance spec.

to make sure check your cylinder size and piston size...

Thanks for the reply, So measure the outside of the piston with a mic,and then use a T gauge and mic in the bore?
