Ok I have not done a boost leak test. I am waiting for my upper intercooler pipe to come in to see if this remedies my issue.

Basically what is happening is under regular acceleration the car is bogging out. When it reaches 5psi it is basically falling flat out on its face. If I steady try to get to highway speeds it feels like it is hesitating to accelerate. When I am at idle I can smell a very rich gas mixture at idle with the window down. The car is misfiring as well at idle. If I hold down the gas and floor it through a gear the car will kind of stumble at 5 psi, and then jump to 13psi and pull decent but then stutter like it is fuel cutting and going into a safe mode/limp mode during deceleration. Idle is up at a stop, and after letting off of the pedal after accelerating it drops to about 300-400 rpms and then bounces back up. I have a FMIC installed on the car. I have checked, re tightend all the clamps, and have seen no leaks from the lower pipe portion.

Any opinions on solutions and what the cause may be please feel free to post.
I am thinking a boost leak because it is stock Upper Intercooler Piping, joined to 2.5in Lower piping and a front mount. Car did not run like this with the Side Mount on. It was a bit choppy but not nearly as bad as now.

Thanks again!

I wouldn't drive it like that, just sayin'. At the very least try to stay out of boost, trying to push the car like this cant be good.

The good news is that your details confirm with %90 certainty that it is a major boost leak.

You may also want to check the timing marks and belt , just to make sure it is all lined up like it should be.

Ill be sure to check the timing, I hope it is not that or I will be forking out even more money to repair because if it jumped, I want to replace the belt for my own self security along with all the other goods that go with the job being properly done. And Yeah I am pretty positive it is a boost leak (crossing fingers that is what it is anyways.)

Another thing to add to the mix. The car was blowing pipes off at first when I had the FMIC installed. When I tightened them down nice and really tight the pipes stopped blowing off and now it makes a funny noise when it blows off, almost like a gasp for air instead of a regular blow off sound. Car drives fine until under boost then it wants to die out on me, so I have to let off the gas till my guage reads around -20psi and will accelerate fine until about 5psi.

Car feels like it is loading up and then boost kicks in for a split second and then it fails to go anymore smoothly. Feels like the more gas you give it with boost the more loaded up it gets, and the more the car starts to fall on its face. Making a bunch of noise and not going anywere. Sometimes it will fall on its face, and then spike boost and then load up and fall on its face again.

Unless you want to have to deal with more serious issues, park it or drive it like grandma until you can do a BLT. If you're hitting 20psi boost (that's a lot of boost, by the way) when you know you have problems...I dunno. Speculating on what might be wrong before doing the test you know you need to do while still driving the car hard is just wasting everyone's time and risking damage to your car.

What I meant to say was that I put the gas down hard once to see what symptoms I was having. Just seeing if it was lower power-band or all throughout. I have been babying the car since it started running funny. It is my only car that I can drive so even though I sit there and hit myself in the head for having to drive it running like it is. I would never hit the gas hard with the conditions I am having, I know that is just asking for more trouble. When something is broke, I don't keep getting on it regardless of how it is performing. I am going to do a boost leak test plan on making the tester this weekend when I am finally off work for two days. Judging from the majority of posts diagnosing my problem I am sure everyone is correct and I plan to fix this. Thanks for everyone's replies! Very useful info.

Sorry I was so harsh. It was late, I was cranky.

Anyway, you might consider disconnecting the wastegate actuator arm from the WG so that you won't boost. Car will lack all kinds of power, but you'll be less likely to hurt something due to boost leaks (no boost, less boost leak).

I know how it is with one car. I totaled a tire two days ago and had to borrow a car until the new tire shipped (tomorrow, hopefully). Sucks.

It's all cool man. I understand you were helping me out. It did turn out to be a boost leak. From 3 places. Had the clamps as tight as they would go but somehow it didn't sit even so it was leaking air. Thanks a lot for the advice I will for sure remember the waste gate trick.

I am in the process of learning even if people come at me harshly I always listen and I don't say anything smart back because regardless of a persons tone the advice that is inside is the most important.

Again thanks to everyone. Hit the nail right on the head. This site is a lifesaver most days. I guess when stuff goes wrong I tend to get overwhelmed and always think the worst and I often look past the simple solutions that the forum lists time and time again. Learned a lesson today, pay attention when I am searching the forums. Every bit of advice helps.
