Just just looking over a new turbo for the 1g, I noticed something on FP's website that is confusing.

The new DSM red (1st link) seems to be the same thing as the Green XL (2nd link). Both state the use there 76hta compressor wheel, both use there 84mm cover, and both use the same 8cm housing, yet the RED cost's $200+ more. Also another thing I noticed is that on FP's site it says the Green XL's 76hta wheel is rated at 59 lbs/min and the EXACT same wheel in the RED is rated at 60 lbs/min.

XL was featured as a sale item/special item, thats probably why its cheaper, but I wouldn't doubt if the price got high after the holiday if they still have them, also this is probably the only run of them.

They might use the same compressor wheel, but I dont think the FP red uses a 65mm turbine wheel, probably a wheel closer to the tdo6h. Turbine wheel choice will limit potential compressor flow.

Red also has an antisurge cover.

Why not call FP and ask them what is better for your application? They probably know their own products better than anyone else.

Green XL = Smaller turbine wheel, unported cover. A quick call/message to Michael would've answered your question(s).

Something that otherwise catches my attention is there is no upcharge for an internal wastegate on the Green, but it's +$150 on the Red.
