Compression valve problem

Well guys I finally found out my car hasn't been running because I Have 70psi of compression in cylinders 1 and 2. My question is I checked my timing at tdc and the cams looked prefectly timed so if my crankshaft was out of time could it cause these low compression numbers? Thanks and my head gasket is only a few years old.
 
If your truly at tdc then your crank will be on time. how are you verifing that it's at tdc? and yes it could cause low compression . usually it'll be uniform across the board.
 
I put a coat hanger I the cylinder and rotated it till it was all the way at the top and i checked a few times. I know this sounds stupid but the tdc piston is closest to the timing belt right or passenger side.
 
What was your compression in the 2 other cylinders? Usually when you have low compression in two adjacent cylinders and not the other 2, then you can almost guarantee that you headgasket popped between the two.
 
One day I was just driving normal and the car starts jurking so push the clutch in and the idle goes down to 400 and when I give it gas it would lag really bad like 2 seconds then I got it home it wouldn't start back up it sounds like no compression I'm just trying to figure out if I need to replace valves or is it a timing problem. Also my lifters where ticking real bad lately do you think they could have failed causing a problem with the valves.
 
With 70psi on #1 and #2 it sounds like a compression blow between cylinders, Head gaskeket failure.

When #1 is comming up on compression stroke, the compression is flowing over to #2 cylinder thu a passage beyeen the cylinders where the HG should be.

This type of HG failure will not mix water in the oil, Nor push compression into the water jacket.

This is normally caused by a bad HG surface on the block and/or head
Or pre det.
 
I agree with the guys above. It deffidently sounds as if it is a head gasket, I just got done with the same problems. My car lagged bad,timing was good, but bad compression in cylinder number 2&3. And sure enough it was a HG. Even if you had you HG change a few years back it have blown. Did you have the head resurfaced? what kind of HG did you use?
