Those that have done the free fiav delete mod. How many times did you have to turn the black knob with the 4 dimples and cross like shape? I was only able to turn it almost 1 full turn. What do you guys think?

Pretty sure I turned it like 3 or 4 times. Careful with it. The plastic can get brittle and stuck. I had the knob seized on my 98 throttle body. Pain in the ass that one. Spray some PBB in there.

Mine turned in quite a few times. I'm experimenting with a new approach by removing the spring.

It may have just been on my TB from constant removal of the plug but it did encounter a boost leak through the freeze plug.

So I recommend putting an RTV seal on it when you put the plug back in.

So I guess I should try turning more? It seems like I can't turn it anymore. It shows about 1 to almost 2 threads on the inside walls of the cylinder.
By the way, would you guys happen to remember how many of these threads are exposed? A you turn the knob, the threads start to show. So I'd like to use this as a reference.
Maybe the number of threads showing is a much more accurate way of knowing how deep the knob needs to be, instead of how many turns it should have before bottoming.
I'll try some pbblaster.
