Next week I'm going to install my SBR stage I 2.3 stroker short block with many new parts and my gole is 450 - 500 hp daily drevin DSM with the following parts:

- SBR 2.3 SB
- FP Green with 40 Tial WG
- 720 ND
- GReddy E-manage + stage 3 DSMChip
- 2G Maf
- WI
- Magnus Intake Manifold
- 1G ported and polished head
- HKS 264/272 cams
- Manley Spring / Retainer kit
- and many supported parts...pls see my car profile

The car will mostly be used for street race at 25 psi boost and pump gas of 95 octane with 8K rpm limit.... so the question is, do I need to install the Manley Spring / Retainer kit for under 8K rpm and is the spring will OVERKILL the head setup?

He man . Why don't you just get a new set of stock Spring / Retainer kit. From the dealer. It is rated close to the crower kit. And it can go up to 9000 rpm with no problem. Just make sure its new. That what i have in my car now and i'm planning on going up to 9000 rpm. Thanks oj :thumb:

Your setup is relatively serious, I don't think the spring/retainer kit is overkill. If you got it, why not put it on? Basically its whether you want to do the work or not.
