i have a MBC and would like to keep it to adjust my boost levels. now i know the spring inside a WG is there to control boost also but my question is...

how would i run an external WG while using the MBC to control boost? do i just remove the spring inside the WG all together or...

you'll be just fine that way. the mbc if it's all the way open will let the gate do all of the work and when you tighten it up will choke off the flowing air causing the boost to go up.

No, don't remove the wastegate spring. Whatever the psi is required to compress the spring is the minimum amount of boost you will be able to run. So if you have a 10 psi spring, then 10 psi is the minimum boost you will run. You can only adjust boost upward from there with the MBC. So if you want to run a lower boost get a weaker spring. That spring is what keeps the valve shut, if you don't have it you have nothing to hold your wastegate closed.
