I have just installed a built 6 bolt stroker motor with Comp 101400 cams, and it does have aftermarket springs/retainers. I'm not sure exactly what springs they are anymore since I got em so long ago. Anyways, I couldn't get the car to start, and eventually found out that the groove the CAS fits into on the end f the intake cam is way off from where the stock cam's groove is. I set everything to TDC again, reinstalled the CAS at TDC and had someone hold it in place (since the bolt holes don't line up) and the car fired right up.
My question is did anyone else have an issue like this?
Also, I was thinking about just making a bracket that basically moves the bolt holes over to where I need em to be. Figured the physical position of the CAS doesn't matter much, as long as its timed correctly... Thoughts?
Here are a couple links to some pics. The first pic is the position the CAS needs to be in for the car to run. The second pic is of the installed (Comp 101400) cam vs. a stock cam's CAS groove. See how different they are?!
