Now that my friend is one awsome sound!

Couple questions, whats your compression ratio on the motor ?

With the idle set lower does it want to stall out when the gas is bliped ?

Also can you refresh us what your whole set up is ?

Sounds pretty tough. I did it. I've been debating between the 400's and the HKS 280's. By just looking at the ramps on the cams it looks a lot like most roller cams do. They have very fast opening and closing ramps. It seems I'm always tearing my car apart for months at a time for one thing or another. I'm shooting for early summer to have my back up again.

Again a very nice sounding car. Just hope you have enough Vac to be able to use your brakes.

He can always go to manual brakes, which he may have to. That thing sounds f'in NASTY. What exhaust do you run?

The exhaust is just a 3" pipe from my turbine exit to where the flex section used to be. I haven't tried to set the idle any lower than it currently is. The adjustment screw for the q45 TB that I run (3.5" at the inlet) is in a shitty spot so I was pleasntly surprised when it turned out to be idling in a good spot on the first try. I also bypassed the FIAV in this TB so I have to gas it to keep the revs up or it dies when its cold. I figured lowering the idle wouldn't help this :) WHen the car isn't fully warmed is has carried an idle around 750 and the vac was around 7-8, so I don't think it would be very good down there.

Polk Performance did the longblock for me. I am running the FP/supertech valvetrain to help control the big cams. Its a Wiseco/Crower 2.4, compression is their 8.8:1 IIRC. Q45 TB, JM Fab intake mani, rev-hard t4 exhaust mani and a PT67. Just your typical DSM build ;)

Sounds like typical shit to me if you are tryin to make 670ish. A buddy of mine runs those cams in his 2.4/pt67 setup, and they seemed to work decent for him, nothing spectacular but they did their job, so I hope you like them as well.

I'm curious to see how my numbers stack up against Ken's (if thats who you are refering to). The cams are the same but our heads are pretty differernt I imagine as his was/is 2g based. Once I get a nice exhaust mani I should be able to max out the 67 and move up a little.

With as little vac as you are getting how are your brakes ?

Do you think you could bennifit from a vac canister of some sort ?

I was planning on attending a local dyno day on Saturday, but it was cancelled due to bad weather. I finally got around to installing my PLX wideband so I'll get some tuning done soon. I've got to play with it some and it definately has some balls. Full boost on the big snail is right around 5k and it over runs the 2g mas on pump gas. That will be an easy fix for DSMlink, but I wanted to get my wideband installed before I experimented with the Fake Mas option.
Getting my PCV valve working like it should fixed all of my oil leaks and stopped a smoking problem that had developed and made me awfully nervous. When the weather dries and the ice melts I'll get some accurate airflow numbers for pump gas :)

Update on mine...

I've decided to part it out cause I've just had every problem in the world and want a car that's running. Getting a Mustang that I'm gonna supercharge. But on a good note, I sold my cams to a buddy of mine here in town so I can at least give ya'll updates from him...and his car runs. I'll see if I can get some good vids for ya'll here soon.

Well, I am the "buddy". I will be posting a sound clip/vid, but it isn't much change in sound from stock cams. The DSMlink really tames the idle apparently. It sounds basically the same, just a little louder, and the BIG difference is the force of the exhaust pulse. Before it was just a normal/light pulse coming out the muffler. Now it will blow your pants flat against your legs from about 2 feet back. Also this is in an automatic car with a stock converter.I know I need to get a stall converter, but it won't be coming for another couple weeks.

As for driving impressions, I am happy so far.Idles in park at 1000rpms, and in gear at 750-800 with out a problem. It does have an odd stumble when cruising and I suddenly let off the gas. I am sure that i due to the 10in of vaccuum. I set the ECU to ignore the idle switch while moving and that cured that.
Fuel rims are a bit crazy and I will need a day or 2 to straighten them out.
The biggest difference is in the spool-up. It tries to spool my T60-1 like it is a 16G! 1/4 throttle from a light and it is spooling to 6-8 psi around 2400 (hits the converter). Haven't pushed the car hard yet but I did hit 24psi at 4400 today and with a bit of actuall tuning that will drop I think, and then it is back to all 34psi. I also am sure the SMIM I installed helped as well.

Well I got some tuning pulls under the belt. Airflow checks in at ~54lb/min at 23psi and pump gas. Thats via a clamped 2g MAS via dsmlink with logged boost matching boost est so it's accurate. None of this over inflated MAFT stuff. Temps through the MAS were right at 70 deg for the log also. Looks like all the mods netted me 8-9 lb/min at the same boost level over my old 428whp pump gas dyno. I'm hoping for 510-520whp on staright pump gas. Hopefully I'll get to go this week.

Then I guess its time for some 1150cc injectors, twin walbros and 17 more psi :)

Did you guys get all the tuning straightened out? I am still building the motor for my BC 280s and want to know how careful i need to be.

I actually dynoed it yesterday. Made 501/378 on pump gas. I made a thread in the tuning section for it that has the dsmlink log :)
