Cometic hp guys..did you put on gasket dry or did you use hylomar or copper?

Did you put it on dry or use hylomar or copper spray?
Have you had any problems with the cometic hp sealing?
Did you get block and head smoothed and straight?
I might be tempted to run mits mls but since have a 2.4 that is not a possiblity dont' think unless mits makes a 87mm mls for other cars that would work.
I already bought the cometic though so pretty much going to give it a try.
Also motor is at machine shop now.How much does it cost to oring engine and do you do it to block and head? And will the cometic hp still work if do the oring thing.?

Multi layer steel gaskets are not designed for orings, if you oring use a copper gasket, the steel gasket has no give in it so it will just tend to hold the head and the block apart not sealing dead flat.
I used copper spray on mine.

Pretty much all steel headgaskets are the same. The key factors are a very flat and glass smooth surface on the head AND block. I've never used copper spray.

I just had my block decked .003" and my head milled .003" No copper spray, etc.. Just a cometic and a good torque wrench w/ arps will do the job.

I have put several motors together dry and one with spray no problems either way. both very hard workers (3065 28psi)dry (EvoIII 22psi)copper spray.
