i recently bought a Cometic headgasket off dsmclassifieds.
Paul99GST was selling it as a 7-bolt 4g63 HG.
Shipping was a PIA but it finally got here.
I put it in my parts box and didnt bother to check it out for fitment(was under the impression that it was gonna be a direct fit)
Now that im putting my engine together, its not a direct fit. I read the label and it says:
C4156-051
Mitsubishi Lancer evo 4-8 86mm bore
.051mm 4g63 motor 96-up
Cometic MLS Head Gasket for 95-06 2G DSM Mitsubishi EVO4-8 4G63 [C415_-051] - $85.00 : Jay Racing

Its almost identical to the factory HG that came off of my car, except for a few coolant holes. I looked up the part number on google and stumbled upon this page that states fitment:
1995 - 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4G63T
1995 - 1998 Eagle Talon 4G63T
96-06 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO4-8 4G63

So im lost now.
I was wondering if i could drill the holes out on the HG(using my drillpress) and torque it down because i am needing the car on the road ASAP. Has anyone ever done this?
The only other issue i see is the part of the Cometic that sticks out farther than the original HG.
Heres a pic of the original HG taped onto the bottom of the Cometic on my head.

That is a EVO 4-8 gasket they have extra oil drainback holes i would not use it. Just sell it and purchase the correct gasket.
