I helped a friend hook up COP because he wanted the cleaner look, his car was a daily and he said it took longer to start and he had issues with misfiring. He did however use coil packs off of some toyota and we had to modify the boots, that may have been the issue.

i had the buschur cop on my old car for years and it performed flawlessley. the only thing that was bad about it was that there was no rubber gromets around the hole where the wires went through the plate and the sharp edge rubbed through the wire and caused it to short and melt a coil. no big deal.

just make shure when you make the plate use gromets on the holes where the wires go through. good luck.

A coil on plug ignition system will 'work' without a CDI. Will it be at it's full potential on a wasted spark system vs a sequential ignition set up?

The answer is no.

However many have been running the COP on the stock dwell settings just fine. I don't believe however they are a significant upgrade for the cost of a kit.

If you can make one cheaply then I'd say go for it. But paying $450+ for one is ridiculous to me personally. Mine I was able to buy off a friend for $100 and it's identical to the Buschur (300M) kit.

Here's the wiring diagram I think you're looking for...

Ya snowboarder i had a major problem with my old ignition. I tried a new coil but i did not try new plug wires.. Ya i could have went with new plug wires but with everything needed for a COP at my disposal why not. I did it right. I used grommets and wrapped everything right. I even sanded the screw that is in the coil and cleaned every nik and cranny...

I guess it is just annoying hearing everyone tripping about the wasted spark issue and you are seriously downgrading your ignition system... I guess you cant be downgrading that much... Most people don't hit the boost level im at...

Thanks for all the help. I don't understand why that people that don't run COP and have never have are saying some of the things they are. it's just opinion and what they have read i have read just as many success story's with COP and most of the fails are the persons fault how installed it. Like it's wired wrong is a big one.
