ok, so i got my new Sachs clutch in my gsx yesterday, and the clutch pedal is WAY softer than it was with the stock clutch, and the pedal has to move down i would say over a half an inch to engage, and it comes off the floor a good bit before it grabs. I HATE IT! i would love to have the act 2600 i drove in a 97 gsx a week or so ago. but on to the point. the clutch seems really soft, and if they are both stock replacements why would this be, and to note the clutch disk was worn so badly on the OUTSIDE only it was down to the rivets, and for a while now the car would jump out of first gear, and grind in reverse every so often, jumping out of first has been every single time for 4 months now. reverse kinda random. even with the new clutch it's still popping out of 1st, but i can get it in gear if i push it in with a bit of force and it's fine. going to do jacks adj. to the slave tomorrow, and try to fix my pesky intake pipe from leaking and see if it helps. any other adjustments i am missing besides the slave one? or an explanation on the super soft pedal would be cool too.:hmm:

soft pedal could also mean air in the system, have you bleed it properly and checked if there aren't any leaks?

mine used to pop out of 3rd, i changed the oil to redline and that fixed it for me but i too have a problem putting it in in 1st and reverse. My guess is my synchros are bad, yours could too.

You need to adjust your clutch pedal... usually after a clutch install the pedal to throwout bearing release is off...

well i'm going to do jacks master cyl adjustment today, and re bleed it a few more times. it was only bled 2 times so my guess is air too. i put royal purple syncromax in the trans and gear oil in the t-case. it shifts beautiful in every other gear, just picky about first at a stop. shep stage 1 and a act 2600 coming in about 2 months :D

i'll report back after it's bled and adjusted.

gravity bleeding it helped a TON, it's still probably got a broken fork so i will pull the trans and look in a month or so when i get some extra money. but the only thing i don't like is how far the clutch comes off the floor before it grabs, reminds me of the ls1 t/a ws6 i drove a while back.

Mines just started having the problem of putting it into first. Sometimes it's hard to put it back into neutral. any tips? I want to try to take care of this first, before it gets worst.

Well if first is giving you trouble, that means a bent shift fork. that is what mine is, but my reverse is fine, first is just the only thing i have wrong. maybe 2nd syncro too LOL.
