I just bought another 2g GST. The guy said he replaced the clutch with an OEM spec ACT clutch.
After driving it for a few months, it slipped in 3rd and 4th gears.
I adjusted the master cylinder clutch rod to give the pedal some slack in it.
After adjusting the rod, it drove fine with no slip, but the pedal would return to how it was before (little slack in the pedal) and slip again.
I adjusted it again and it temporary drove fine.
The clutch doesn't always slip. If I see that it's slipping, I'd put the car in neutral and re-engage everything and it would drive fine after.
Today, I got fed up with it because it slipped in 3rd gear going up a round about to enter the highway and so, I flushed the hydraulic system.
My question is that will flushing the clutch fluid help with clutch slippage? (The fluid that came out was dark and had mineral stuff floating around.) I also adjusted it again and the transmission doesn't have a dust boot for the clutch/PP/flywheel.
Answers are greatly appreciated!
