Ok the problem first started off as my clutch pedal going soft. Sometimes it would even stick to the floor. So the first thing I did was replace the clutch master cylinder which was leaking right at the firewall. When I did that, my friend and I bled the system but could not get any pressure back in the clutch pedal.

We then replaced the slave cylinder because it was not in the best looking condition and bled the system again with similar results. We would get a little pressure in the pedal but would not be able to shift the car into any gears.

We then noticed that the clutch line was leaking right where it threads into the master cylinder. I then replaced the line with a steel braided clutch line from Extremepsi that runs directly between the two cylinders (removed the reservoir near the top of the slave cylinder). After bleeding the system with the new line on, we got pressure back into the clutch. However; I still cannot get the car to shift. We would bleed the crap out of the system and I would be able to get it to grind into first gear but when I pull it back out of gear to try another gear I can no longer get it back in first. We would then bleed it some more with similar results.

At this point I have exhausted all of my talent and am asking for help here. This is a last ditch effort prior to taking it to a shop that I know will probably charge me hundreds of bucks to take the tranny apart.

Hey it can be a lot simpler than that is was for me. I had the same thing going on with my gsx. The transfer case got so hot it welded the intermediate pipe to it instead of staying inside the transmission. Also I needed synchros. I got a trans and transfercase and rear end for 2300. Did the work my self.

Broken clutch fork or throw out bearing? Verify that slave cylinder moves @ 1/2" then explore the pressure plate/clutch fork.

Are the bolts that hold the transmission to the engine tight? If they aren't than the slave cylinder will just push the transmission away form the engine.
