2G Clutch problems need help plz

Okay let me start by saying i think i blew up my clutch already . I just bought this 95gst a week ago and it was built by ips motorsports here in columbus. so i havent drove an eclipse in two years, so i was excited to be back in a eclipse, so i admit i was driving this car hard for the first few days i had it. but this morning i got in and it was acting like clutch was slipping but not bad. so i didnt get on it or anything and when i polled out of the atm smoke came from the tranny and the clutch went to the floor. i can put it in gear with car off but not on. there is no clutch so when i start in gear im moving (thats how i got it home ). i have a brand new clutch and flywheel in the garage for my spyder but i dont want to take it all apart if its not the clutch. just seeing if any one has done this or if it sounds like a clutch. thanks

Did you check your tranny fluid?

nope how don you do that in 5speed? clutch fluid was fine

Remove the 17mm plug from front of tranny with car sitting level. I would just empty it out and fill er up with new fluid. The drain hole is a bolt on inside of tranny (opposite side of where cv axle attaches and near the cross member). Drain it then fill with gear oil until it starts running out a bit.

Post a picture of the position of your clutch fork.

Have you bled the clutch slave cylinder ever??
It almost sounds like the pedal won't allow the clutch disc to disengage.

Hopefully someone with more expertise can chime in.
I personally would verify that I had complete uninterrupted pressure in the line. Josh

Your clutch probably came apart , I would say it looks like wrench time buddy.

I would start by checking the slave cylinder then the clutch master cylinder. If the clutch or tranny was bad, you wouldn't have been able to start it in gear and drive it home. Only other problem could be a broken clutch fork.

Somthing is broke i can here it in the tranny moving around, i had this happen in my first eclipse. i broke two teeth off it. might be the same with this one but it just doesnt make since it was fine when i left and i didnt even hit boost. i find out tomorrow when i pull the tranny, i take pics and keep you all updated, i hope its the clutch because i got to be at work monday

Found out my problem. My throw out bearing was in a million peases.

Wow. Make sure you check the PP surface, disc, PP fingers, and fork for damage also. And only buy an oem TOB (all aftermarket don't last).

i installed an aftermaket but i know your suppost to install oem just dont have the extra cash right now and ill put oem in when this stage 3 ebay clutch goes

I have heard that OEM TOB is recommend for 5spd FWD tranny.
Does it also true for AWD tranny?

ive always owned gst's but im sure it goes for the awd too, the reason the oem is recommended is because its beffey and its durable
