First of yes I know how to use the search button and I have been using it but I want people to chime in on my problem. I got this 92 talon that supposedly just needed a head gasket job but come to find out the transmission was trash with no first gear and second gear on its way. I bought a used transmission threw it on and not it will not let me go into gear. I'm thinking its a hydraulic problem from what I have read. Now my problem is I have pressure in the clutch peddle but I'm guessing its not enough and when I let off the peddle it gets stuck about half way. I have bled the system plenty of times now, I pulled the rubber boot and checked for leakage and it looks like their might be some but it is not pouring out. Slave cylinder is not leaking either. I went to try and adjust the rod on the master but I was not able to move it freely nor with some pliers.

So my question is do you guys think my master cylinder is shot and I have to replace it? or is my problem with the actual clutch and pressure plate?

Also I have done plenty of clutches before and have never noticed and I asked couple mechanics this too. Are the fingers on the pressure plate suppose to lay flat or are they suppose to have that bump on that they have before you install them?

I need my car so I need to figure this out as soon as possible.

Thanks ahead for your help.

Since you have a 1g, checkout your clutch pedal bushing. Basically make sure youvhave a minimal amount of freeplay. If that checks out, try bleeding thrvsystem in reverse. Start at slave cylinder and push fluid up to the master. If your master or slave is leaking replace before you waste your time trying to fix. Any hydraulic system system needs to be fully sealed. No minor leaks or anything

Well if I push the rod on the slave in I can see it pushing the fluid into the reservoir. But the only thing I do see that could be leaking is the master where the rod is at. I just see it wet but no leaking to where there could be a puddle.

While you are under the dash, you need to pull the clutch pedal all the way up so it is in the correct spot. Then take a deep 14mm socket and ratchet and place it in the end of the clutch pedal tube (above the gas pedal) and crank on it to tighten it and see if it helps it return properly after the new master.

Sounds good I will go pick up a new master tomorrow morning. Thanks for the adivce

if its wet replace it. reblead it and let us know how it goes from there. when i had air in mine it would only come up 3/4 way. blead it and now it comes all the way up

I will replace it tomorrow when there is sunlight. and I will keep you guys posted:hellyeah:
