I have a friend that is new to his 97 automatic gsx, we have done some work to it but a common problem persists it is as follows, when under acceleration at about 4000 to 5000 rpms what seems to be a miss occurs. When we took it to the local auto parts store they said that it was a P0170. I am at a loss for what the problem could be i have done everything i can think of and nothing seems to work.
If you need more info let me know what can be useful and thanks for any help.

Try searching.
Everything I've read says that code is: Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1)
Search for possible solutions assosciated with this problem. I see several threads out there with some helpful information.

some mods on this car are coil on plug, 3" exhaust, front mount ic, revmaxx stage 2 stall, supposedly a big 16g but all ive seen out of it is 13psi and that is after running it through the shudder in the upper rmp range.

I got the same code and it was Fuel Trim Malfunction. At the time I was running my bov into the atmosphere, but switched to recirculating my bov. Since then I don't throw that code unless I run it hard and the boost control kicks in. Grrrr...
