K, guys, so i've been driving this car for a week, and i noticed that when letting off the clutch that with the pedal pressed all the way down, it will come up about 2 inches and then the clutch will engage, i've had one manual before but don't remember the pedal engaging that far down not sure if it's a regular dsm thing or what.

If it isn't leaking anywhere, it could also be adjusted incorrectly. Also, DSM clutches do seem to engage close to the floor.

I had the same type of thing happen to me it was a leaky clutch line check your fluid resiviour on your clutch master cyclinder. if its empty try filling it and drive on it and if it has lost any fluid its your clutch line.

well yea man thats why i was saying it might be a leak cause my clutch was on the floor and wouldnt move, but the leak was MINOR. like....onedrop a day so my resevoir looked full all the time... haha. but just because of that little shit air kept getting back in everytime i bled it.

well i shouldnt be talking i havent even gotten the part in yet. its on his way though ill let you know if it was a leaky line or what but im pretty it is.

It definitely sounds like a problem that could be fixed by bleeding the clutch. I know everybody has already said it, but it's much cheaper and less time consuming than going in and replacing a clutch when you dont need to :p

Yea planning on that, gonna do it on saturday, I got a hold of a Mitchell ondemand account today and started checking all the tsb's on dsm's, and recalls, and stuff like that. The online mitchell is cool, ### i can check out everything and if there is a major problem that shows up it shows how some mechanics have fixed it. Gonna bleed and see what happens, if it doesn't fix it then adjust it. but i did notice while looking that the neutral safety switch is pressed in fully when clutch pedal is all the way to the floor but for it to engage within an 1 1/2 of letting off sounds like bleeding ordeal to me.
