Clutch Problems!!

I just had a tranny rebuilt. New Evo shift forks and new seals, bearings, synchros, and gears. Its a front wheel drive in a non-turbo shell with a boosted 4G63. I adjusted the shifter linkage and it wont go into 1st 5th or reverse. I can start the car in third and it will start moving right away even with the clutch pedal to the floor. I put in a new throwout bearing in it also and it just wont engage the clutch. New master cylinder also and its just not building up enough pressure. My clutch pedal assembly is leaking fluid out of the rod like around the ball. Does that need to be replaced or have anything to do with the reason its not building pressure?

IF it is leaking fluid than replace the part that is leaking. Of coarse it needs to be fixed if it is leaking. It isn't supposed to leak. You will be pulling in air if you are leaking fluid which will cause the clutch to not disengage properly.

When you press the clutch , is it moving the slave enough to push the fork? If it is moving the fork , then you will just need to adjust the rod (clutch master on the inside just above the gas peddle . Proper Clutch Adjustment - YouTube

Makes alot of sense. It prob is pulling in air. And when i do engage the clutch, even with bleeding it like 142513 times it only engages the clutch what seems like half the distance it should go. Should i buy a new clutch pedal assembly?

No, replace the parts that are leaking.

i had the same issue it ended up being my master cylinder rod had to be adjusted.

Kind of its still just engaging barely. If I push the clutch in and try to shift the car will start to roll on flat ground so the clutch still isn't separating. Any pictures will help!!!!!

So your not getting enough travel from the clutch system. Is this a single disk clutch kit? Replace that leaking master cylinder, then bleed it, then adjust it properly and you should be good to go.

Yeah its a single disk clutch. The car has a brand new master cylinder and its bled for like 10 hours. Even the slave cylinder is brand new. I even extended the metal rod inside the slave cylinder to engage the clutch further but still 0 plate seperation so i have no freakin clue why it wont engage. I followed all of the clutch lines and used soapy water to look for bubbles and no leaks ANYWHERE

Did you bench bleed the new master cylinder like it tells you to when you open the box or did you just bolt it up?

Was the flywheel stepped? Not sure if thatd cause the problem but i remember my machinist saying it was important.

And your car should go into every gear without the clutch with the car off. I would say your linkage is not hooked up properly or your fork is not right and are you sure your throw out bearing didnt move out of place?

See i thought it was the throwout bearing so how do i check for that? and i bolted the master cylinder up last time without bench bleeding it so how do i do that? i have a new one to use. And i know the linkage is good because when its off it slides into every gear perfectly since i adjusted it last. Where should i go with it next?

installed a new slave and master cylinder and the clutch will engage but it wont go into first and when i pump it up alot the clutch works great but if i leave it into gear and drive then shift out like 30 seconds later the clutch wont disengage almost like its leaking pressure or something

I feel like an idiot. I missed two of the 12mm bolts that go all the way through the tranny so it was on half assed. But now is all well all gears stick in and it drives like a dream!
