after installing my stage 2 clutch it was running fine for a little, i then rebuilt my motor and resurfaced my flywheel i put everything together after that my gears would start grinding every once in i while but really would start when my clutch would warm up. so i adjusted my master cylinder, and it stopped the problem for the most part, but in high rpms it would still grind a little, so i adjusted the cylinder again tell there was no thread showing, after i did that i couldnt even put it in gear, there was some fluid leaking from the master cylinder in the cab so i thought that was the problem so i replaced both master and slave today and bled it and its still doing the same thing i cant get it in gear and the pedal is soft and sometimes gets stuck. was wondering if any one could help me out.

If the slave and master are both new, along with the clutch, it sounds like there is still air in the system. Jack the front of the car up and have someone watch the slave/rod and watch it while you depress the clutch pedal. When the pedal feels "soft" the rod may not be pushing the fork meaning theres air in the system still. Bleed it well, it could take many times. The slightest bubble can cause your symptoms.

Also, make the clutch engage about 2 inches off the floor, so you know the clutch dis-engages enough when your pushing the pedal down.

Also, I dont know if you already have one, but a SS clutch line is a must IMO.

i had somebody push the pedal and it was moving the fork, but sometimes the pedal would get stuck. but this started happening before i even installed the new master and slave. it was after i adjusted the master all the way out, meaning towards the front of the car, and i tried putting it in gear and it wouldnt go in none of the gears

Sounds like the master rod is adjusted too much and isnt pushing the PP off the clutch disc enough.

Do the 2" thing I mentioned before and try it out.

Did you inspect the fork and pivot ball when you replaced the clutch?

probably around 500 miles before i resurfaced the flywheel. im not sure what your talking about the 2'' thing. the pedal is soft at first then it get harder at the end

When you twist the rod on the pedal assembly that controls how much fluid gets pushed into the slave cylinder, make it so when the car is in first gear the clutch has to come out about 1.5-2 inches before the clutch grabs. This is a nice release point and ensures that the clutch is dis-engaged enough when switching gears.

Theres a chance that when they resurfaced your flywheel they took enough off where your slave cylinder cant move the pressure plate off the clutch disk. That's unlikely but possible. ALSO the fork/pivot ball may be worn and causing the same problem.(not enough throw)

i see what your saying but i cant even get it into gear right now that should be adjusted when your able to put it in gear right? ya before this happened it would ingage right when i lifted my foot.

I not sure what your asking. If the car is in neutral at idle and you push the clutch in amd cant get into gear, the clutch probably isnt dis-engaged enough. Turn the rod so it pushes more fluid when you depress the clutch. Another way to check (not safe LOL) is to try and start the car while its in gear. If the car jerks, the clutch is still engaged and pedal needs to be adjusted more. If your pedal is maxed out, theres either air in the system, the fork/pivot ball is worn, or your clutch/flywheel is messed up somewhere. Thats all i got LOL

i dont think your understanding what im saying or maybe you didnt read carefully what i said in the beginning. after i adjusted my master cylinder rod all the way up to the point were theres no thread showing, thats when it wouldnt go in gear, i did this because it would grind when i tried putting it in gear

A soft clutch pedal is either going to be something wrong with the hydraulics (air in the line, bad master/slave, needs adjustment) or it could even be a broken clutch fork but I doubt that.

Follow this Youtube video for adjusting your clutch:

EDIT: If you're still having issues after adjustment, either there's still air in the line or something else is wrong but soft pedal tells me it's hydraulic.

Did you replace with OEM parts?
