2G Clutch Pedal Play

When adjusting the clutch pedal, do you want to keep a little bit of play at the top or no. My car goes into gear better when I have absolutely no free play in the clutch pedal. What do you guys think?

The manual says we're (2G's) supposed to have ~1/2" at the top or so. Is there free play at the bottom, which there is supposed to be as well? You may need an adjustment.
