Clutch is dragging and I have no idea why.

Today I did a clutch drag test by jacking all 4 tires off the ground and reving to 7k and the tires did start to rotate. I have a brand new fork and pivot ball so I didn't add any shims. The fork seems to sit about dead center too. Tried bleeding the clutch to no avail and the master cylinder is on its last thread. Flywheel has been resurfaced and was stepped to be in spec. I have a fidanza v2 six puck with less than 5k on it. The master cylinder was replaced with one from oreileys and the slave as well. Could the master cylinder rod be too short? What about the slave?
 
With the car up in the air like that it doesnt take much effort to get the tires moving..Did you just rev it in neutral or were you in gear? Do that same test on flat ground, 1st gear with clutch in with the e brake off. Then, if the car MOVES forward then you know its dragging.
 
It was in first gear when I did it. I did the test on the ground and the car didn't move. But when I called sheppard trans he said to jack it off the ground because with it on the ground the test is not accurate. I've been occasionally getting blocked out of first and a notchy 2nd on my new trans. This is why I've been checking this stuff in the first place.

have you adjusted the rod from your pedal to master cylinder. and i think the fork should be a little to the engine side. there are some videos on youtube to adjust the clutch
 
I had a similar trouble earlier this year and it was because I've ajust the clutch master rod too far. When I was pushing the clutch pedal in the floor it was dragging but if I released a little it was ok. My pressure plate tooth where touching the clutch disk.
 
Well the clutch fork is about dead center. And the master cylinder rod is on the last thread of adjustment. Ill try backing it off a bit and then see if that helps the dragging issue. Never thought that the finders might be touching the disk. ill report back tomorrow

You test for clutch drag on the ground, not up in the air. Both my DSM's will spin the tires in neutral when jacked up, it's a quirk of the manual transmission. Put the car on the ground and rev to 7k with the clutch pressed in. If the car creeps forward, the clutch is dragging.

When I do the clutch drag test with the car on the ground then it does not move at all. But however when I call sheppard transmission they tell me other wise and say that if it does it when the car is in the air it is still dragging and that there is no issues with the actual transmission. Is there anyway that any slop or anything wrong with the shift linkage could be causing this? because if its not that then there has to be something internally wrong with the transmission.
 
Thats what i did and they said if the tries spin with the car off the ground then the clutch is my issue. Maybe ill just tell them they didnt spin for arguments sake. Even though he said "other than the clutch i dont know what could cause it" well for 2400 bucks if my trans isnt working properly, yes im going to be a bit picky.

What does this mean? What does this clutch require and did you measure the step height personally? If you did not how can you be sure? And please do not use the back of a set of calipers to measure step height. It requires a proper depth mic. I never leave the machine shop until they hand me a mic and I measure the height for myself. I've seen too many shops just remove a few thou from the surface and if they do the steps at all they don't measure anything even if I told them exactly what I wanted. Anymore I'm quite clear with what I want UP FRONT and explain why and I've never been disappointed in the last decade.
 
I stated what clutch i have to give as much info as possible. And yes, i did personally check the step height myself because im the same way. But i think now we have determined that my clutch is not dragging as i did the test on the ground and it did not move. So today i call shep
 
Well I'm not 100% positive yet. But I just went to oreileys and got a warranty replacement for my master cylinder and guess what? They now have a different design of the master cylinder for the gsx. And guess what else? The rod is about 3/4 inch longer. So there's where I was running out of adjustment. Seems to be shifting better a bit but the clutch is not fully bled yet so I'll have to say more tomorrow when its bled all the way.
