Heres the problem,.. bought this 91 awd tsi with 85km on it(no mods that i know),, its bin sitting in dry storage for 6 years,.. started fine, ran a bit rich,.. changed most fluids already,.. but the other day i started it run fine drove to DQ and when i come to the turn, i pushed in the clutch and it died out on me. At that point i tried to start and it wouldn't turn over, so I put it in first gear foot on clutch giving it gas as i turned it over and i was able to move but as soon as i put my foot out the clutch it dies down and kills. i got it home and parked it.. the next morning i tried to start the car and it turned over but bogged realy low. I gave it some gas and it stalled out.. decide to go to the shop at every stop sign stalling and starting the car pedaling the gas and clutch to get it to turn over.. thinking it was not get air i checked the intercooler tubing to find little typical amount of oil( bypassing not pouring).. so the mechanic increased air bypass flow and it stopped it from stalling and sits at 700rpm but when im driving it now it doesn't seem to have its normal pick up.. what im wondering is why is my car needing to increase ABF why is it not getting air.. is it the turbo or wastegate? milage is bad 400km a tank...even tried starting it before with out the intercooler pipe attached to the TB...didn't work but did hear random ticking sounds coming from TB could it be the ISC is broke and floating.?

i looked at other threads but they seem to be a periodic thing not fixed

It is sounding to me like your blow-off valve is not recirculated.

If you are shifting or coming to a stop and push in the clutch, the MAF takes in the accounted amount of air that comes from your blow-off valve. If your BOV is vented to atmosphere, the MAF cannot take into account the amount of air that should be coming from your BOV. So why did he have to increase air bypass flow, because the MAF is being shorted the amount of air it should normally be taking in coming from the BOV.

well the car i believed to still be stock and im not sure if its the BOV as im not hearing shift hissss.. so im saying there isn't one at least not that i see anyway.. friend last night was also saying it could be the waste gate on the turbo maybe jammed from sitting for 5 years,, i can hear the turbo spool in 1st,2nd, but thats it..:hmm: ...and only if i try to listen for it. my thoughts are if i need to increase air flow,, thats means either it was too much gas or not enough air.. it did seem to be running realy high and rich before anyway but if i let it ideal down from start up it would go down to 1rpm from almost 2.. tail pipe was blowing out slightly fast as well .. i heard the injectors could be an issue as well.. lot of speculations :banghead:

ill try to get one up.. taking it to my buddy at mitsu hes even hearing a rattle coming from the TB im hearing one from valve cover .. we both agree it doesn't run smooth.. im thinking valve spring.. either case we are trying to sorce out the gaskets so we can open them both up.. even tho its a rubber gasket for the VC with it sitting for 6 years it will probly break when i remove it and i dont feel like cutting one for the TB . ISC looked fine.. seemed intacked but if its the valve im wondering if i can even get a replcement or if im going to end up calling Magnus for an early upgrade,..LOL
