This recently just started, and it didn't happen everytime.. but it has gotten worse and dies almost everytime now. Whenever I throw it out of gear and pop it in nuetral, the rpms drop and they don't stop.. and the car dies. Or when I engage the clutch, the same thing happens. So here I thought it was my alternator, but I checked the voltage of the battery with car off and on, and it checks out just fine. Could it still be my alternator?

When my car first started dying like it does, and I attempted to check the alternator by starting the car and unplugging it, the car died. I did it 2-3 times to be sure, and it died everytime. The next morning I tried it one last time, and the car didn't die. That seems pretty odd to me, but I would like to see what you have to say.

timing may be off?..just a suggestion..if it was the alternator or a electrical problem certain things would cut out before the car dies like maybe your lights or radio or gauges..i dont think the car would just die..

check the terminals, i had a similar problem when i recently bought my car, i didnt know why it was happening, i would start up the car and it would stall right away, or if i actually got the car running and reved it up or drove down the road and stopped, the rpms would drop and the car would stall. so i checked around and noticed that a nut was missing from the negative terminal, meaning that my computer and other stuff wasnt properly grounded and as soon as i put a nut on it, the car runs strong. might not be your problem but its worth a look.
