Well i'm at the point I need to order a clutch and flywheel and there are so many choices I don't even know what to choose. I was originally going to get the act 2900 w/street disc. I've decided I really don't want that heavy of a pressure plate. So I've been considering act 2600 w/sprung 6 puck or the fidanza 3.2. Basic mods are SBR-g50 ported turbo, SBR stage V head,BC 272s and springs/retainers,wiseco-eagle combo, arp's, ETS Race FMIC,JMF SMIM. I'm thinking i should pull about 400-450awhp, but them I'm also going to be installing 100-150 shot of direct port nitrous. So basically I don't wanna spray and just slip the clutch.

I've been asking the same question recently, although I don't have NEAR as powerful as the set up as you are running right now. I didn't see it in your post, but what clutch are you running right now? It seems like you have done a ton of work on the engine internals, but the tranny is bone stock, right? From what I understood from my responses to asking about my clutch, people were saying that on a stock transmission anything really above the 2600 would be hazardous, so personally I would not do a 2900. I personally have no experience with Fidanza, and I know that given a few more hours you'll probably have some people saying that they have had horrible experiences with ACT as well as any other clutch brand, so just keep that in mind. I think ultimately you would be pretty happy with a 2600pp with a 6 puck SPRUNG disc. You could get away with the street disc, but I think you would just run through those every few months. I think i'm telling you things that you probably already know, but with the 6 puck, that is prone to cracking flywheels. It's not a garauntee, but it happens frequently enough that it should be additionally mentioned. I would also suggest that whether you get an ACT, Fidanza, or whoever, that you buy that brand's flywheel as well. Even though any part has to be a certain size in order to fit your particular application, I just feel more comfortable putting a flywheel from ACT along with the clutch from ACT as well, knowing that the companies are only considering how pieces from their own assembly lines work with their other products. So there's my thought. 2600 with SPRUNG 6-puck. Good luck!

Well tranny is gettin done next either TRE or Shep also going with a 91 trans and tradin the 90 trans in for credit. I'm thinkins ACT with sprung 6 puck too. I think the nitrous will tear the fidanza up not mention I will be running meth injection aswell.

Does any one one have any other info because i'm still kinda nervous about running a puck stile clutch don't wanna break my drivetrain, but I also don't want the heavy pedal of a 2900lb. PP.

If you are going to be using this setup for the street and drag racing applications, I would reccomend staying away from a six-puck disk.

There are ALOT of threads on this topic on the forum.

The reccomendation I have given for many people in the past with 600HP or less is the following:

Street/Drag Setup: ACT2600PP, ACT Streetlite or Fidanza Flywheel, South Bend Clutch Sprung Kevlar Disk, Mitsubishi Throwout Bearing, Replace clutch fork pivot ball, and Clutch fork (if worn out or original), Replace clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, and upgrade to a stainless steel clutch line.

South Bend Mitsubishi 2G Eclipse-Talon Clutch Disks

Drag/High HP setup: Quarter Master 7.25" V-Drive twin-disk with the thick "rally" disks. Contact Adam at DevoTuning for more information. Otherwise, the Power Train Technologies one (PTT) is nearly identical.

Quarter Master Setup: DEVOTUNING, Home of the world's fastest EVO

Twicks69 that setup is for a 2g only so that really does me no good, and to 1gDSM4g63 how do you like your 4.3 was it hard to use at first. I mean I'm going to be drag racing alot and don't want to trash the clutch or snap something else because it grabs all at once.

Do you have any idea that the disks are INTERCHANGABLE?!?! Horsepowerfreaks.com just has it improperly listed. That is why I put the direct link to the clutch disk itself.

Get a 6-bolt flywheel of your choice, purchase a DSM ACT 2600 Pressure Plate, and purchase the disk with a Mitsubishi Throw Out Bearing. Done.

It is still a "Ford 20-spline" -- 20-spline = 7/8" Input Shaft diameter.

The pivot point on the ACT 2900 was changed a few years ago and it has the same amount of pedal pressure as the ACT 2600.

I have an ACT 2100 with a 6 puck sprung hub disc and ACTs flywheel. Launching is fun, but it is a pain because it is hit and miss. It is harder to slip a puck disc than it is a street disc. Not to mention the shock that I get during high RPM shift change. Keep in mind that the ACT 6 puck discs are ceramic (not kevlar).

I vote for the 2900 with a street disc, that is what my next clutch will be.
