Would like an opinion on what might have happened I have a 95 gsx, with a 50 trim and 660s etc, trans is said to be a shep but I think its stock, clutch is a act 2600 pp and disc, , had the car for a year and finally made it out for a 1/4 mile pass, I knew to launch easy not to shock drivetrain , before 1st run clutch set-up had a inch of free play and would disengage 3/4 travel, on 1st pass at strip I held rpms about 3500 and when lite turned I started feeding out clutch progressivly and when rpms dropped I revved higher till car started rolling then I let clutch go easily and floored gas , went to shift into second but lever wouldnt notch into second , abort run and drove it easy back to pits, smelled like burnt clutch now, car shifted normal but no free play now, pedal pushing against stop, still could shift trans normal and disengage point was a tad higher, car did hook very well on that pass . Crawled under it a found slave rod would not push back into it self as it would before , borrowed some tools and cracked oped master feed line then went to adjust pedal for some free throw, couldnt turn pedal rod till I cracked open master clutcl line first, ended up with disengagement at half travel and a little free play 1/2 inch, made several more runs but always came off line easy and lift off throttle to shift, car has unknown mild chip but no studder or nlts for now, what do you thihk happened on that first pass?

Maybe air in clutch line? A loose slave cylinder? Your bellhousing may need tightening to the block. Etc.
