Is it better to go with a 2100 pound clutch instead of a 2600 becuase of the pressure that is on the 7 bolt crank in a 95 awd talon... i am asking becuase i was goin to get a 2600 but a shop i went to said to get the 2100 becuase of the pressure on the crank... i have a big evo III 16g turbo and evo III manifold and i wanna know if the 2100 will hold!!!! thanks guys

i was talking with my friends at Mitsubishi (hes about 25 and has built about 7 DSM's now.) I told him i was building a 6-bolt, and the first thing i asked him was "Pat, do you believe in all this Crankwalk bullshit?" He told me its very much true and he experianced it whenever he broke 350-400 HP. he said they taught him in his Mitsu Tech classes that our cars would really benifit from a bigger oil pan like the Moroso one for the 6-bolts, so we could fit 2 more quarts in so there wouldnt be a shortage of oil for the crank and thrust bearings.

Disclaimer:
He is in no way claiming he "figured it out or solved the problem".

so with that in mind, im still building the 6-bolt and having a great time launching with my 2600! :thumb:
your AWD, you dont need to slip, you need to launch!

i personally havent had neither a 2100 or 2600, but with all the horror stories that i read when it came time for me to get a new clutch, i got a spec stage 3 with a carbon/kevlar street disc. i havent launched it yet, that's because as soon as i broke it in, i shot a rod through my block. so now im doin a 6 bolt swap and am still gonna use my spec clutch and thinkin of gettin a fidanza lightweight flywheel. hopefully i will have my car back by this weekend. but i really love this new clutch of mine. a little bit stronger than stock peda pressure, but you know it's there

and i forgot to mention in the last post, that there's now a stage 3+ that has a bit more grabbing ability than the stage 3. and it's only about 50 bucks more than the stage 3 clutch kit. i believe i've read somewhere that u can also get the stage 3+ for the same price as the stage 3

Thanks Guys Well I Went With The 2100. I Got It Like An Hour Ago So Ill Keep You Posted On How It Worked Out..............

## welcome. even though i didnt vote for the 2100 or 2600. please do keep us updated on how it works out

Haha, boy thats good you put that disclaimer in. You would have been surrounded like wild dogs do prey LOL

Alot of people loved the ACT2600 as much as I did probably.. Hell nothing grabs like a 2600 vs a 2100 in my opinion and if your going to do some more work on the suspension I would've went with a 2600. But a 2100 is a great clutch also.

Goodluck with your choice
