Hey guys i have a 2.3l motor with all the mods that i need to run this, my problem is that i am still waiting on my chip that is being flased for me to compensate for my 850cc injector and all the other stuff that gets done to it and i was planning on using the chip and my safc2 for tunning. But since i am still waiting i am kind of thinking on selling the chip and safc2 and just getting dsmlink but i dont know if the chip and safc2 combo will do the job to help me run 25psi with out any problem, this is going to be on a 50 trim rs49t.

Thanks,
Javier

get link, and be done with it.

almost anyone who has an safc would rather have DSMlink, $ not being an issue.

Get the DSMlink. A new version is supposed to come out in the summer with a MAFT to hook up a GM MAF. You can wait for that version, if you want a GM MAF. I would recommend a wideband though, makes tuning easier. Innovate LC1 can be bought for under $200 and you can log it with DSMLink.

On another note, I didn't know there were turbo DSMs in Altamonte Springs. :tease:

Yeah we are here, but would i be able to run the chip and safc 2 with no problem. Money is not an issue but i was just wondering since i have the safc already and the chip is almost done.

You getting a keydiver chip? If you are getting the Stage 3 with injector size compensation, they yes, it will work.

You can't tune 850cc injectors with the SAFC alone without injector compensation (stage 1 or 2). 650ccs are the max for a good tune and good idle with SAFC only.

It is a jester chip stage 3 same as the keydriver. But would it still be worth spending extra cash on getting dsmlink or just stay with this since it works.

Thanks,
Javier

DSMLink is the way to go bro. For the money nothing will give you the tuning abilities, logging abilities and support that DSMlink will. Do it right the first time and be done with it.

best of luck.

Agreed! :thumb:

The keydriver chip and the SAFC and a great combo....

BUT

With DSMlink, you have direct timing control, datalogging capabilities (even things like injector duty cycle and knock counts), and a broad range of other adjustments which a keydriver/SAFC combo is not capable of.

I've used a TMO chip, many Keydriver chips, MAFT, SAFC2, Pocketlogger, etc..... And now I have DSMlink, and I can honestly say that Link was one of the best purchases I have ever made for my car.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I don't want to make another thread similar to this...

Is an EPROM ECU worth it if I get DSMLink?

Well i decided to go with dsm link, on another note i have a brand new tial 38mm wastegate that i haven used because i was told that i should be ok to run 25 psi on my rs49t with no problem. I was wondering if i could get any inputs on selling it or using it.

Thanks,
Javier

What kind of input you looking for? If you want to sell it post it on ebay since you can't post in the classifieds. If you want to use it, SBR makes a good manifold to use the wastegate.

FYI - FP e-mailed me and some of their customers have boost creep issues on the FP Green with an internal wastegate at high RPMs in 4th or 5th gear. I'd keep that Tail 38mm wastegate around, if I were you. You can always get a o2 mounted external wastegate.
