Resolved DSMLink chip

My ECU is currently socketed for an EPROM chip will that chip just pop out and the DSMLink chip just pop in or does it need to be socketed for the DSMLink chip?

If a socket is already in place, you can just carefully pop the current chip out (probably stock one) and carefully press in an ECMLink chip.
