2G Check engine light came on today

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what the most common things are on a DSM that would cause an engine light to come on. My car has lifter tick and it is getting pretty loud so I was thinking knock sensor may cause a code. Please any help would be appreciated. I am going to be getting it checked out at the mechanics but wanted to hear from people as well.

You will have to get someone to read what code you have to determine where your problem might be. Auto Zone will check codes for free. We can guess all day at what it might be, but if you want to know for sure you have to pull the code. After all, that's what it's there for.

Instead of guessing around the million possibilities...

Why not just go to autozone and get it checked for free?

Alright thanks guys, not too sure if there is an autozone in my area, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I'll check it out
