I'm fabbing up some piping for my new jrc core on my 1g, and i still need silicone couplers. Does anyone have any experience with this kind?

I think its just like the radiator hose that some people use on their setups? what do you guys think? Any other cheap solutions? I'm not going to be boosting any crazy numbers, right now im still on the 14b and this summer i'll be running the evo III but still probably only 19 psi max. thanks

So you guys dont think that this would burst under 19 psi? Where is the best place to get t-bolt clamps? I hear napa sells them for under $3.00. anywhere else?

thanks formontoya. does this look pretty much what the radiator hose would look like? Do you think this silicone, beaded pipes, and tbolt clamps will be fine for under 20 psi or should i consider some expensive 3 ply silicone?

Definatly the beaded pipes and t-bolt clamps will be of benifit although the clamps are overkill for 20psi. However I use them on mine also because they are wider, easier to tighten, and I do not have to worry about leaks, which is why you probably want to use them. If you are using the 2 ply reinforced hose as shown cut for couplers, then 20psi should be no problem, but I would not use it for a 'run of pipe'.

Radiator hose has a similar look from the ends, but does not have the 'wrapped' look on the outside. Plus it is made from different materials.

:thumb: Hey dude. The best and cheapest way to do it. Is go to NAPA auto ,and buy the 3 ply and also 4 ply radiator hose they got forsale .They sell it buy the foot. You can also pick up few tbolt clamps, also while you at it too. Thanks oj

Napa's t-bolt clamps are good stuff for $3 each. Other clamps might be a little better, but you can crush pipe with the Napa ones, so good enough.

I'm also lookin to pick up some couplers and t bolt clamps but I am more of the 30 psi guy do I have to go with the 3 ply or is the 4 ply the only thing that's gonna hold.

I'd never recommend high temp silicone after my experience with them thus far. I ordered a bunch of 3mm and 6mm hose, 10 couplars and 20 T-bolts. So like $140 worth of stuff. It's Friday, I say: "I'll pay whatever shipping to make sure it gets here in a week, by next Friday" because I had that weekend free to assemble the FMIC pipes. He says no problem.

A week goes by, no silicone. I call, no answer, I leave a message. Monday, my package ships and I get an email saying so. I email them and ask why it was so late, no response. I get my order finally just today, nearly 2 weeks after the order, and it's missing a T-bolt. I call, no answer, left message. No callback today. Terrible, TERRIBLE, service IMO.

I run 2-ply couplers from a local vendor. Holding fine at 20psi. We'll see how they hold 30 later on this spring/summer. I swear some people would buy 20-ply if they were for sale. I guess I never hopped on the whole 'I need as many ply as possible because it makes me cooler' bandwagon. 2-ply is holding strong for me!

I used standard home depot couplars with the metal outer sleeve for a long time at 20 psi with no problem. Then one day the clamps had had enough and started to blow. I replaced the spot that was blowing with Tbolts and I thought all was good until the next time I did a boost leak test. Not only did another place blow during my 25psi test, but spraying soapy water revealed small leaks all over the hoses, and I then noticed they had all slipped some over time. considerong I have already pulled my front bumper twice while on the road, Ill be replacing it all shortly.

The home depot rubber couplers are just about worthless. I have one on my inlet pipe because it doesn't see any pressure hardly. But using them on any of your charge pipes is just asking for problems.
